(November 23, 2008 update) The Oregon State Parks Department and the Oregon State Police continue to monitor homeless camp locations along the Wildish 'haul' road by Glassbar Island.
- Once a week and as time allows an Oregon State Trooper will be checking homeless sites for any new activity.
- In addition park employees monitor the area.
- Weekly monitoring by officials and timely reporting of homeless camps by Glassbar Island Volunteers has resulted in a decrease of problems.
- A question was raised about nudity on the property and the weekly visit by the Oregon State Trooper. The Oregon State Trooper will be here to monitor the homeless camps - NOT to ticket for nudity. Take the time to introduce yourself to the park employees and Oregon State Officers should you see them on their monitoring patrols, as they are there to protect the area and make it a safe and enjoyable place to visit.
